GENERAL INFORMATION

• The consumption of alcohol is strictly forbidden on the premises during the entirety of the event. If any alcohol is discovered, the individual or team involved may face removal from the event, in order to maintain a safe and respectful environment for all participants and attendees.

• The home team will wear white/light jerseys; the visiting team will wear dark jerseys. All jerseys must display a clearly visible number that corresponds to the official roster.

• Teams and officials must be prepared to begin games up to 15 minutes prior to the scheduled start time.

• Locker rooms must be kept clean and tidy at all times.

• No equipment bags or team gear should be left in the locker rooms after a game or overnight.

• All players must use their assigned locker room for each game. Players with back-to-back games who have been assigned a different locker for the second game must move their gear at the end of the first game.

• Sunday Championship games will conclude no later than 5:00 PM.

• Roster Violations: Any team found to have an unapproved or ineligible player on its roster will be subject to immediate disqualification from the tournament.

• Playoff Verification: All teams will be reviewed by a Long Island Warrior staff member prior to playoff and championship games to ensure full compliance with tournament rules. 

 

OFFICIALS

• A zero-tolerance policy for verbal abuse is in effect and will be enforced for all team officials, players, and spectators. 

• 2-person officiating system

 

TOURNAMENT RULES

• All games will be played in accordance with current USA Hockey rules (2025-29).
• Blue-line icing
• A minimum of a half shield (visor) is required for all adult players. A full cage is highly recommended. 
• All youth game participants are required to wear a full cage or full-face shield, an approved neck guard, and a mouthguard.
• All games are competitive contact only (no full contact)
• Minor penalties - 1.5 minutes
• Major/Misconduct penalties - 4
• Major/Game misconduct - Player will be ejected for the remainder of that game and suspended for the next scheduled game.
• All game misconduct penalties will be reviewed by the Tournament Director, who will determine whether any additional disciplinary action is warranted.
• Fighting: Any player who engages in a fight will be immediately ejected from the game and automatically disqualified from the remainder of the tournament. The Tournament Director reserves the right to impose additional disciplinary action if deemed necessary.
• Players and coaches should report to the arena at least one hour prior to each game.

 

SCORING

• All divisions will be scored as follows: 2 points for a regulation win, 1 point for a tie, and 0 points for a regulation loss.
• No overtime will be played in round robin games. 
• Any forfeited games will be recorded as a 1-0 score and result in 2 points for the team affected by the forfeiture. Any forfeited games that affect another team's playoff status may be reviewed by the Tournament Director to determine which teams advance beyond the preliminary round.
• Use of non-approved players will disqualify a team from the tournament.
• All games played by a disqualified team will be forfeited. No money will be refunded.

GAME FORMAT

• 3-minute warm-up.
• 15-15-15 minute periods (Adult Games)
• 12-12-12 minute periods (Youth Games​)

 

CHAMPIONSHIP

Please refer to the tournament scoreboards or speak with a Tournament Official to confirm the playoff format for your division. Team officials and captains are responsible for verifying with a tournament representative whether their team has advanced beyond preliminary round play before leaving the arena following their final preliminary game.
